Biografia
An award-winning producer of both long-format series television and film, John Calvert has been extensively sought after by both U.S and Canadian production companies during his lengthy and successful career. Just prior to producing season one of October Faction for Netflix, John produced the acclaimed series Anne with an E and three years of X Company as well as the pilot Transylvania for CBS, Played, Bomb Girls the Movie and Bomb Girls season two. John consulted on season one of Flashpoint and then moved on to producing the next four seasons. Additional producing credits include the first season of Aaron Stone for Disney's Jet X, the children's feature Gooby, three seasons of Lifetime Television's Missing, ABC Family's original movie Brave New Girl, based on the novel written by Britney Spears and her mother Lynne, the pilot Coven for Lifetime, all five seasons of the popular sic-fi series Gene Roddenberry's Earth Final Conflict, the series Psi Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal and for the original Tekwar movies as well as the eventual series. His credits as line producer include several episodes of the drama series Magic Hour, Rookies, The Prom, Pray For Me Paul Henderson, The Fighter and Dark Horse and the feature film Montreal VuPar with Deny Arcand. John also served as the line producer on the pilots Fast Forward, the comedy series Maniac Mansion and the miniseries The Sound and the Silence. A native of Toronto, John completed studies at York University in Social Studies and Education before embarking on his television career.
