Biografia
James Thorpe began his career writing, producing and directing series and special programming for several television stations in Canada. His efforts earned him international acclaim resulting in over thirty-five awards for writing and producing including the coveted International Film & TV Festival of New York Award, the Can-Pro Award, and two international BPME (Broadcast Promotion & Marketing Executives) Awards. James was then lured to the United States by the CBS Television Network. In Philadelphia and New York he wrote and produced campaigns for such popular television programs as Murder, She Wrote, The Cosby Show, Murphy Brown and many others. During his years at CBS, James was the proud recipient of numerous awards, including three Emmy Awards, six Telly Awards, five Beatty Awards, two International Film & TV Festival Awards, and the Clio Award. After this period James decided to focus solely on script writing and moved to Los Angeles. Almost immediately he won a place in the Warner Brothers Studio Writers Sitcom Workshop, working closely with Warner Brothers and Lorimar studio creative executives, writers and producers. Similar accolades soon followed from the Walt Disney/Touchstone Fellowship, the Chesterfield/Amblin Fellowship, and the Los Angeles Scriptwriters' Network. Since then, James has been busy creating, writing and producing in North America and Europe for both film and television, including shows such as Outer Limits, Highlander, The Lost World, Queen of Swords, Relic Hunter, Adventure Inc., Young Blades, Flash Gordon, The Jane Show (Global), Wild Roses (CBC), Sanctuary (SyFy), Lost Girl (Showcase Channel/SyFy), Motive (CTV & NBC/Universal International), The 100 (CW & ABC), and Private Eyes (Global/ION).
