MTV Movie e TV Awards 2023, tutti i vincitori

Domenica 7 maggio 2023 si è tenuta la serata di premiazione  degli MTV Movie & TV Awards 2023, presentata da Drew Barrymore, che ha premiato il meglio del cinema e della televisione del 2022 in 26 categorie. Quest’anno sono state aggiunte due nuove categorie: “Best Reality On-Screen Team” e “Best Kick-Ass Cast”. Le candidature sono state annunciate il 6 aprile nel corso di un evento trasmesso in diretta dal Barker Hangar di Los Angeles e  le votazioni  sono rimaste aperte fino al 17 aprile.  Eccezion fatta per la categoria Best Musical Moment, le cui votazioni sono state aperte tramite le Instagram Stories di MTV dal 1° maggio al 5 maggio con la proclamazione del vincitore avvenuta in diretta durante lo show.

L’evento live è andato in onda su MTV a livello internazionale in oltre 170 paesi. In Italia lo show è stato trasmesso su MTV (canale Sky 131 e su NOW) e su MTV Music (canale Sky 132 e 704) in contemporanea con gli Stati Uniti nella notte di domenica 7 maggio. Sono previste repliche nella versione sottotitolata lunedì 8 maggio dalle 21.00 su MTV e dalle 22.00 su MTV Music, martedì 9 maggio dalle 21.00 su VH1 (canale Sky 715 e canale 167 del digitale terrestre) e su Comedy Central (canale Sky 129) mercoledì 10 maggio dalle 22.00. L’intera serata sarà poi resa disponibile anche ondemand sulla piattaforma Paramount+.

Il maggior numero di nomination è andato al film “Top Gun: Maverick” e alle serie “Stranger Things” e “The Last of Us“, ciascun titolo con 6 candidature ricevute. A seguire: le serie “The White Lotus“e “Mercoledì” hanno ricevuto ciascuna 4 candidature. Tra le produzioni unscripted, hanno ricevuto 2 candidature ciascuna “Jersey Shore Family Vacation“, “RuPaul’s Drag Race“, “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” e “Vanderpump Rules“.

A presentare la cerimonia di premiazione è stata chiamata l’artista del cinema e della televisione Drew Barrymore. In passato, la Barrymore ha ricevuto nove nomination e vinto tre Golden Popcorn, tra cui il suo primo premio nella categoria Best Kiss per il suo ruolo nel film “Prima o poi me lo sposo (The Wedding Singer)”. Ha vinto anche il premio Best On-Screen Team per “Charlie’s Angels” (2001) e nell’edizione 2022 degli MTV Movie & TV Awards: UNSCRIPTED è stata nominata anche per il Best Talk/Topical Show. Nel 2020, lei e Adam Sandler sono stati premiati come Dynamic Duo agli MTV Awards: Greatest of All Time.

Tra i premi annunciati già prima della cerimonia, il premio “Comedic Genius” a Jennifer Coolidge. La Coolidge è la sesta vincitrice di questo premio, che celebra gli attori che “hanno dato un contributo incomparabile al genere comedy, esercitando una grande influenza con il loro lavoro e trasformando il genere nel suo complesso”. Tra i precedenti vincitori di questo premio ricordiamo: Jack Black (2022), Sacha Baron Cohen (2021), Melissa McCarthy (2016), Kevin Hart (2015) e Will Ferrell (2013). Jennifer Coolidge  ha interpretato la “mamma di Stifler” nella commedia “American Pie” del 1999. Di recente, la Coolidge ha interpretato Tanya McQuoid  in The White Lotus della HBO (ruolo grazie al quale ha ricevuto un Emmy Award 2022, oltre a un Golden Globe Award, due Critics Choice Award e uno Screen Actors Guild Award). Recentemente la Coolidge ha recitato anche nella serie Netflix di Ryan Murphy “The Watcher” al fianco di Naomi Watts, nella commedia romantica di Prime Video “Shotgun Wedding” al fianco di Jennifer Lopez e nell’avventura familiare di Netflix “We Have a Ghost” al fianco di David Harbour. La Coolidge ha anche interpretato il personaggio di Paulette nel franchise “Legally Blonde” al fianco di Reese Witherspoon. Nora per le sue collaborazioni con il regista Christopher Guest in film come “Best In Show” (2000), “A Mighty Wind” (2003) e “For Your Consideration” (2006), l’attrice e comica ha anche fatto apparizioni in “A Cinderella Story” al fianco di Hilary Duff e “Promising Young Woman” al fianco di Carey Mulligan.
