TRAMA

Una donna che assume psicofarmaci interrompe la cura quando un cantante ne critica pubblicamente l'uso. Senza le medicine la donna compirà un pluriomicidio. 

A high school janitor enters a bathroom to find a girl with her skirt around her ankles and two boys fleeing the scene. The girl, Jamie, claims rape, but when surveillance footage and friend testimony confirms she in fact organized the group sexcapade, Jamie recants her story. Embarrassed by the turn of events, Jamie steals her parents' car and attempts suicide, but in the process she runs over a group of fellow students, killing one. Jamie stands trial for vehicular manslaughter but when it comes out she's bi-polar, the trial becomes more about the legitimacy of psychiatric diseases and their treatments. Rock star Derek Lord financially backs the defense as part of his anti-scientific agenda, blaming prescription drugs for Jamie's erratic behavior, yet when Jamie returns to normalcy after getting back on her meds it becomes clear the treatment works. evertheless, Novak presses ahead with the trail and gets a conviction, but having previously been engaged to an untreated schizophrenic, she pushes for leniency in sentencing.
