TRAMA

Vicky Riggs, avvocato presso lo studio di Tessa McKellen, viene trovata uccisa. Le indagini sono subito avviate.

Police discover a young female lawyer, Vicky, raped and murdered alone in an apartment. Benson and Stabler seek out the victim's fiance Alan Winchell who confesses to breaking up with Vicky after finding out she worked nights at a strip club, but his voice patterns rule him out as a suspect. SVU's focus shifts to Vicky's law firm where partner Tessa McKellen, wheelchair bound, points them in the direction of Josie, Vicky's dancing partner, and possible suspect Tim, a frequent strip club patron, but when Tim's alibi checks out and Josie turns up dead as well, they are back at square one. With few leads left, Benson and Stabler utilize amateur video footage from a resident at Vicky's apartment where the footage shows Linus McKellen, Tessa's husband and caretaker, entering with Vicky just before her death. DNA tests show Linus had intercourse with both Vicky and josie but when questioned, Linus admits only to having an affair with Vicky and denies both murders. n court, Judge Petrovsky throws out all evidence on Linus after declaring a computer-aided DMV photo search inadmissible. Forced to try new angles, Benson, Stabler, and Dr. Huang speak with Linus and Tessa separately and come to the conclusion that Linus must have been setup. Huang discovers strains of viruses in Tessa's insulin medications and diagnoses Tessa as a possible Munchausen's Syndrome candidate who intentionally makes herself sick to keep Linus's attention. Additionally, boot prints found in both Vicky and Josie's apartments match those of Inman, an acquaintance of Tessa's from a former case, who makes a deal with SVU and confesses to being hired by Tessa to murder Vicky and frame Linus out of jealousy. Benson, Stabler, and Linus go to Tessa's gym where she sits poolside in her wheelchair when Linus walks up and dumps her into the pool. As Tessa swims to the surface, the con artist is put under arrest for both murders.
