TRAMA
Una telefonata da parte di una ragazzina disperata viene girata alla detective Benson, che scopre che il segnale della linea è stato manipolato…
A 911 call from 9-year-old Maria is forwarded to Benson, who must figure out why Maria has been locked in a room for days. A trace on the cell phone Maria is using turns up multiple phony leads, corrupted due to electronic manipulation of the phone's signal. Benson eventually convinces Maria to divulge crucial clues, including the name of her captor, Ronald, and a receipt from Felipe's burger joint. As Fin discovers that Felipe's burned down months ago, Novak locates Maria's mother through the Honduran consulate. A scanned photo from Maria's mother reveals a young girl Benson recognizes from a Toronto-based investigation of underage pornography. Just as experts locate the virus blocking the cell phone's signal, Maria fades off to sleep and out of touch. On a hunch, Benson and Fin go back to the neighborhood of Felipe's burger joint where Fin remembers seeing an electronics store, just the sort of place that would sell gear that could block a cell phone's signal. Outside the locked store, Benson spots a man fitting the description Maria gave of her captor; his name is Ronald. Inside the electronics store, Fin and Benson find an empty room matching the description Maria gave on the phone. Ronald will not admit to anything, but Fin and Benson discover the remains of charred wood on his shoe bottoms. Racing to the burned down site of Felipe's burgers, Benson digs up a freshly dug dirt mound to find an unconscious Maria who she quickly resuscitates.
