TRAMA
Leslie fa di tutto per portare avanti la sua missione: unire Pawnee a Eagleton. A questo scopo organizza un concerto durante la festa dell'unita', ma i suoi piani vengono boicottati da diversi avvenimenti.
When Leslie visits Ron's office to discuss Diane's baby shower, she quickly discovers that Diane already had the baby. She summons everyone else into Ron's office for a proper introduction to the new baby, but Ron isn't enthused about the excitement and attention. The Unity Concert committee brainstorms ideas for artists and musicians for the biggest festival of the year. Leslie announces that she's filed an application to declare Eagleton Hills a national park. While surveying the area, she realizes that a large wooden wall still separates the two towns. She decides to hold a press conference announcing that the Parks Department is tearing down the wall between Eagleton and Pawnee once and for all. Meanwhile, Tom and Ben are soliciting local businesses with sponsorship opportunities for the Unity Concert. Tom's forte is selling ideas, so gathering sponsors for the concert is a piece of cake. Furthermore, one wealthy investor tells Tom to stop by his office later to pitch some of his own business ideas. Tom couldn't be more excited, but he doesn't have a single idea to pitch. Back at the office, Ron is annoyed at the attention his new baby is getting. He just wants a nice, quiet place to relax with his son, and the office is not working. He takes his son and heads to the third floor, which is completely abandoned and under construction. When confronted by a construction crew, Ron offers to do all of the work for them if they'll leave him alone for the next two months. The crew agrees and Ron gets started on the restoration. The next day, Leslie holds a press conference to televise the demolition of the wall, but tragedy strikes when a swarm of angry bees emerges from the wall, stinging everyone at the event. The press immediately twists the story, claiming that Leslie planted the bees in the wall as an elaborate prank against Eagletonians. Tom is desperate for a good business idea to pitch his potential investor, but his idea well is bone-dry. Luckily, Ben has a boring but incredibly lucrative business idea involving the distribution of dry cleaning chemicals. Tom isn't excited about the idea, but he's desperate for anything to pitch to his angel investor. Meanwhile, the press continues to run wild with the bee debacle at the press conference. Leslie decides to head to the hospital to personally apologize to all the bee sting victims, but she's ambushed by Mike Patterson, Eagleton's most popular trashy reporter, who quickly gets into a fistfight with Councilman Jamm. The hospital brawl eventually results in Leslie getting punched in the face. The next day, sporting a gruesome black eye, Leslie meets with a representative from the National Parks Service. He's not interested in talking about Leslie's application, though. Instead, he offers Leslie a job with the National Parks Service in Chicago. It's a blindsided surprise and a proposition that Leslie will have to think about. Tom and Ben prepare to pitch to their investor, but at the last second Tom pulls an audible. Instead of proposing Ben's dry cleaner business idea, Tom pitches his passion project: a high-end bistro. Ben backs Tom up during the pitch, and the investor agrees to finance Tom's restaurant. Ron gives Leslie some advice regarding her job offer: Leslie may feel fed up with Pawnee politics, but she stays because she loves fixing her town. In the end, Leslie decides to turn down the job offer with the National Parks Service because she needs to make sure that Pawnee is in good hands before she departs. The job offer stays on the table, though, so it could still be an option for Leslie in the future.
