TRAMA

Benson e Stabler interrogano una ragazza trovata in un edificio abbandonato. Lei afferma di essere stata portata lì da tre uomini in uniforme. Ma è la verità?

Tandi McCain, a sixteen-year-old girl, has been missing for days and is discovered in an unfinished building on a college campus, alive. After questioning the victim, Benson and Stabler learn she is taking a summer course on the college campus and was studying at the library when pulled into the building by three men in uniforms. She was kept there for several days and raped. Our detectives begin to question several cadet partygoers who attended a party that night, directly across from the building where she was found. We realize Tandi's story has some holes when the cadets reveal her presence at the party. When the story leaks of the cadets inaccurate involvement, one of the cadets is targeted for a hit-and-run and hospitalized. Benson and Stabler, growing tired of Tandi's lies, are led to believe she is covering for her father, now a prime suspect. Once again, going back on her story, Tandi retracts her claim of rape, and says she made it all up. Our detectives, feeling there is more to it, push Tandi in questioning and eventually discover it was her father's friend, and not her father, who saw her on the campus that evening and raped her. Tandi was protecting her father, who works for this man and would be fired if she ever revealed to anyone what happened. In court, the jury finds the accused not guilty based on Tandi's inconsistent stories. We feel vindicated, however, when another girl comes forward at the end of the trial to confess that she, herself, had been raped by the accused.
