TRAMA

Benson e Stabler trovano un neonato con addosso una nota che informa del rapimento di sua madre. Indagando, scoprono un legame con il caso del serial killer latitante.

Benson and Stabler are led on a wild goose chase to find a copycat serial killer. The investigation starts when they find an abandoned baby in the park with a note attached, indicating the mother's kidnapping. The copycat leaves a trail of breadcrumbs for them to follow, testing Benson and Stabler in their abilities and forcing them to play his game. They are too late in finding the first victim, and realize he has already captured his second victim when they discover several unidentified fingers at the crime scene. Once again, our detectives lose this battle and are led to a backyard where they locate the second victim's body. Benson, Stabler and the others study the crimes of the original serial killer and realize their guy is following his historical case, step by step. However, when they figure out the identity of the perp, he is forced to jump ahead to his final victim, who is the one survivor from the original string of crimes. They catch him, and push him hard with questioning on the whereabouts of this final victim, who he has locked away somewhere. With Huang's psychological help, they realize that bringing in his mother to face him will create the breakdown they need. Her revelation of his fear of the dark, from being locked in the closet as a child, helps our guys bully him into confessing. In the end, they save the final victim.
