TRAMA

Stabler deve collaborare con il detective John 'Hawk' Hawkins per individuare ed arrestare un violentatore seriale che è stato appena rilasciato dalle autorità. 

Stabler is losing faith in the system when a case comes along that pairs him with a rogue cop whose faith is already lost. The two work on a capturing a serial rapist/murderer recently released from jail, who seems to be up to his old tricks as two women are killed within a week of the man's release. The rogue cop worked on the original case several years prior and gets himself temporarily assigned to SVU so he can end the case once and for all. Once they investigate the new crimes, they realize there are slight inconsistencies with the original crimes. Further evidence convinces Stabler, Benson, and the rest of the unit that the convict is not their guy. At first, the hardened cop doesn't want to believe it, but the evidence grows to a point where he can no longer deny it. In fact, they soon learn that the real killer framed the guy who went to prison and has been the one actually committing the crimes all over the US ever since. Once the true killer is apprehended, Stabler and his temporary partner find a new resolve to keep fighting the good fight.
