TRAMA
Lo scontro tra protestanti e cattolici si accende dopo le richieste di un emissario del Vaticano. Intanto Claudia sospetta che Caterina voglia eliminarla.
Mary and Francis' relationship continues to be strained. As a result of Francis' edict, Cardinal Vasari (Salvatore Antonio) from Rome is torturing suspected Protestants. A Protestant Minister (Douglas Nyback) threatens Francis with a fake claim that he has set explosives somewhere to kill Catholics, so Francis has him arrested. While in royal custody, the Minister is killed by his fellow Protestants in order make him a martyr for the Protestant cause, and this ignites open fighting. Lola reveals to Francis that she did plant the evidence on Narcisse, but said evidence has been removed and Narcisse is aware of Lola's treachery. Catherine tries to send Claude away by marrying her off to the son of a Bavarian Count, but Claude sabotages this by making public sexual overtures on Narcisse. In flashback it's revealed that as a child Claude was jealous of her two baby sisters Henriette and Emone, and the babies were killed by having roses pushed down their throats.
