TRAMA
La rivolta contadina spinge Maria e Caterina nella foresta, mentre Francesco è sulle loro tracce. Intanto Lola e Narcisse cedono al desiderio.
Mary joins Catherine on a trip away from court, but their carriage is attacked, forcing them to escape disguised as commoners. Mary and Catherine encounter a pair of actors, Roger (Ari Millen) and Jenny (Charlotte Hegele), who are pretending to be Francis and Mary. Roger and Jenny have been terrorizing the locals, thus ruining Francis and Mary's reputation. Mary and Catherine are eventually caught by Gifford (Noam Jenkins), the mastermind of the plot, who reveals that he was sent by Queen Elizabeth of England as retaliation for Mary's publicly staking claim to the English throne. Roger and Jenny are killed by Gifford, but Mary overpowers Gifford, just as Francis arrives to rescue them. Lola is disowned by her family after they learn of her bearing a child by Francis. Resolved to be independent, Lola decides to regain her dowry, but is blocked from doing so until Narcisse offers to help her in return for her spending time with him. They grow closer through flirtation and court games, though Lola is still cautious of his reputation.
